Hey guys. I wanted to make a separate  journal about this, since there've been some questions. Plus I would be eternally grateful for anyone who would be willing to repost this. The more commissions the better!

THE ISSUE:
Recently I brought my hard drive into work to give a friend a soundtrack and it fell on the floor in the process and now doesn't work.
Normally we'd say oh well and get a new hard drive, BUT
4 years worth of my daughters pictures, and 6 years worth of animation files from my past studio jobs are on that drive, and I need to get them back.
Do do this we will either need to pay 550 or 850 (depending on how broken the drive is)

SOO to help raise money to pay for this expense I am holding a sale

on SINGLE CHARACTER, SOLID COLOUR, NON-STEAMPUNK commissions.

It will be all I'm doing for the next two weeks.
I am selling them for 10 dollars. I am willing to do multiple characters in one commission but they are 10$ a piece.
SO

If you're interested in a commission:

1. note me here on DA or send an email to kkerns.bunnimation@gmail.com
2. Send 10$(or more if it's multiple characters) to bunny_sailormoon@yahoo.com via paypal
3. I'll be streaming the next two weeks pretty much everyday if you're interested in seeing yours drawn.
4.As long as you note/make a payment before the 10th of February you can get one for 10. After that they jump back to regular price.

I've also had some people who were interested in donating a dollar or two, if that's the case:

There's a link to the donate page.

I really appreciate the kindness and support that's been shown to me thus far, and hopefully those people have gotten cool art out of it as well. :D
I hope to continue to get commissions and every little bit helps.

Thank you as always
you guys rock!

It did get fixed. I raised 550/850 needed. It was a great alleviation from what it would have costed us.

I wish I could help out... unfortunately, being a student, the woes of an unfavourable financial situation are all too familiar to me.
I don't know if you've considered attempting to repair it yourself? If it fell while running, chances are it experienced a head crash, and most of its contents will still be recoverable. Mechanically, it's probably in full working order.
Assuming it's okay mechanically-wise, I highly recommend "iCare Data Recovery Pro 5.0". It's free, and I successfully managed to recover most of the files on a flash drive that had been corrupted and re-formatted. I can't imagine it exasperating the hard drive's situation, so in my opinion it's worth a try after looking at repair costs, but if the pictures are of great sentimental value I can understand that you'd want to give them the best chance of being restored.
In either case, good luck, I hope it all goes well!

I'm so sorry to hear about your hard drive. That must be awful. I wish I could donate to cover the whole thing, but I'm a broke college student. :(

Hope $5 and a word to my friends help. :aww:

I'm sorry I can't really help you. I'm out of work and my own computer is probably on it's last legs. I hope you get your daughter's pictures back though.

Thank you very much. I completely understand. I was much in the same situation as yourself last year. Sadly which is why money is so tight right now. Had to sell my husbands car before we moved because it died, so car payments are killing cash right now. =\ I saw your comments on vests journal. It was actually our external that broke. i have the files i need to run my portfolio website, but all the rest of my extra files were archived there. While I would have normally purchased another hard drive to double back it up, I was unemployed until recently, so could not afford it. As for cloud, my hard drive is 2 terabytes big and was about 1/2 full. to run cloud service for that kind of space would have run us about 80$ a month which is as much as a new hard drive. =\ so we are kinda SOL all over the place. I appreciate the condolences though! <3

Yeah, I realized when I clicked on your journal post that it must've been your external that hit the floor, but I commented on vest's before I saw it. I understand; I have a whole armada of externals in various sizes but I still manage not to be able to back up everything. I wish I could help you out, but I'm about to make my own "help" post to keep my blog running. Good luck, though; I hope you can get your photos back.
